Tampa Bay Rowdies Announce Nike Kit and Apparel Partnership
- Updated: January 9, 2015
The Tampa Bay Rowdies are excited to announce a multi-year partnership with Nike to be the club’s official uniform and apparel provider beginning with the 2015 season.
Nike is the worldwide leader in athletic footwear and apparel and produces some of the most innovative and iconic uniforms in global soccer. The Rowdies join Jacksonville Armada FC, the Atlanta Silverbacks and the San Antonio Scorpions as Nike partner clubs in the North American Soccer League.
“This is a great day for the Rowdies organization,” said the club’s principal owner Bill Edwards. “Nike is recognized globally as a sports leader and is the perfect partner to help us raise the Rowdies standards both on and off the pitch.”
“I have a long-standing relationship with Nike both professionally and personally,” commented Rowdies head coach Thomas Rongen. “I think they are the elite soccer manufacturer in this country. We’re very proud and honored to wear their equipment.”
In addition to match uniforms, Nike will also provide training and travel gear for the Rowdies.
“Partnering with a brand like Nike demonstrates our commitment to quality,” said Rowdies president and general manager Farrukh Quraishi. “We are excited to bring ‘the swoosh’ to our fans.”
The 2015 season will include new uniforms and a new apparel line. The new uniforms will be unveiled at a season kick-off party scheduled for April 1, 2015. Details for that and other season-opening events will be announced in the coming weeks.
The Rowdies will open the 2015 season with a match up against the San Antonio Scorpions, the 2014 Soccer Bowl Champions, in San Antonio April 4. The home opener follows on April 11 against Minnesota United FC, the team with the best overall 2014 record and the defending Spring champion.
