USF Football Quarterback Brett Kean Suspended For First Four Games of 2018 Due to Academics

Multiple sources have told The Daily Stampede that junior quarterback Brett Kean will be suspended for the first four games of the 2018 season due to do academic reasons.
Kean served as the primary backup to former QB and GOAT Quinton Flowers during the previous two seasons and seemed primed to take over for Flowers in 2018.
This all but takes Kean out of the running for the starting quarterback job this year and possibly next year as well.
Redshirt sophomore Chris Oladokun, and Alabama/Arizona State graduate transfer Blake Barnett will now battle it out in fall camp for the right to be named the starter in week one versus Elon.
Kean had the most experience of the three, appearing in 14 games over two years and completing 25-37 passes for 193 yards and an interception. He saw action in just six games in 2017, and completed 7-11 passes for 64 yards.
Oladokun saw action for the first time in 2017 and completed his only pass attempt for 12 yards.
Barnett, whose transfer to USF makes so much more sense now, has seen action in five games over two seasons and has completed 14-24 passes for 259 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He was 3-5 for 40 yards in two games in 2017 for the Sun Devils.
Kean will miss Elon, Georgia Tech, Illinois, and ECU and will be eligible to return October 6 at UMass.
