Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather Agree To $250 Million Fight
- Updated: February 15, 2015
It sounds as if boxing’s dream matchup is just about ready to become reality.
The Telegraph reported Saturday that Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather have agreed to terms for a much-anticipated fight in Las Vegas. The bout reportedly is set to take place in May.
The newspaper, citing sources, reported the purse is going to be worth up to $250 million. Mayweather reportedly will get 60 percent of the cut to Pacquiao’s 40 percent. It’s expected to be the richest fight in boxing history.
Pacquiao, according to the report, has agreed to all of the fight’s stipulations, completing his contractual agreements Saturday. Now it’s on Mayweather to officially sign off on the fight. That could happen as soon as Sunday night at the NBA All-Star Game, according to The Telegraph.
The fight has been years in the making, but contractual issues surrounding things like drug testing have held up the potential bout. If and when the fight is officially finalized, it’s expected to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
