USF rallies, falls to Tulane in overtime

Louis Dabney scored six of his 25 in overtime for Tulane, which bounced back after blowing a 12-point second-half lead to beat USF 56-51 on Sunday.
Corey Allen had 13 points to lead the Bulls (7-10, 1-3 American Athletic), who shot 35.6 percent and made only five trips to the free-throw line, hitting four. Bo Zeigler equaled a career high with 12 points off the bench and Troy Holston had 11 points, including three 3-pointers.
Jay Hook added nine points, four rebounds and two assists for the Green Wave (12-4, 3-1), which shot 15-of-45 from the field.
Tulane led 41-29 early in the second half before USF ran off 10 straight points, led by eight from Zeigler, to get to within 41-39 with 6:16 left. Anthony Collins’ jumper put the Bulls ahead 46-45 with 22 seconds left in regulation, but Jonathan Stark hit 1 of 2 free throws to tie the score at 46. Collins missed a potential winning shot at the buzzer.
Dabney hit two free throws to put the Green Wave ahead to stay, 53-51 with just less than two minutes left in overtime.
