USF Women’s Basketball Defeats Memphis, 72-39

Memphis (6-7, 0-2) went 2-for-22 from the field to start the game and could never recover from the big deficit in a 72-39 loss at USF (11-3, 2-0), Wednesday.
The Tiger defense got off to a great start, forcing turnovers on each of USF’s first three possessions, but the ball would not fall on the other end, as Memphis started 0-for-11 from the field and trailed 8-2 with 15:28 to go in the first half.
Memphis closed the last three minutes of the opening half going 4-for-10 from the field, but hit the locker room down 41-15 at the break.
Mooriah Rowser would finish with double digit points, finishing with 13 points, but no other Tiger could reach double digits.
USF was led by Katelyn Weber, who finished with 10 points. The Bulls’ used 13 different players as they had the 41-15 halftime lead to cushion their bench players’ time in the second half.
